Bread stands as the quintessential symbol, addressing issues pertaining to the inherent rights of humanity. In fact, the title refers to the art. 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which states that every individual has the right to a standard of living sufficient to guarantee the well-being of himself and his family.
This performance marked the culmination of a three-month-long workshop journey, during which the artist engaged a group facing social and housing disadvantages. These participants were hosted by three reception centers in Palermo as part of the PRINCE and POC DIMORA social projects.
At the heart of the performance, participants collaboratively arranged the message “ALL UNDER THE SAME ROOF” on a sizable table positioned in front of the Teatro Massimo. The act of sharing bread served as a focal point, bringing together not only social workers and activists but also passersby. It provided a space for dialogue, fostering the exchange of experiences and discussions on proposals aimed at raising awareness and asserting the fundamental right to live.
Through this performance, the artist reaffirms the concept of hospitality as a fundamental human prerogative and a tool for reevaluating, in essential terms, our capacity to welcome others and recognize ourselves in them.

Questa performance costituisce la continuazione di una ricerca incentrata sul pane simbolo per eccellenza attorno a cui articolare riflessioni sui diritti inalienabili dell’uomo.
Il titolo fa riferimento, infatti, all’art. 25 della Dichiarazione Universale dei diritti umani in cui si afferma che ogni individuo ha diritto ad un tenore di vita sufficiente a garantire il benessere proprio e della famiglia.
La performance è stata il momento conclusivo di un lungo percorso laboratoriale durante il quale l’artista ha coinvolto un gruppo di persone, con svantaggio sociale e abitativo, ospitato dalle tre strutture aderenti al progetto PRINCE – POC Dimora e in particolare il Polo Martin Luther King – Centro Valdese, in cui l’artista ha lavorato per tre mesi.
I partecipanti alla performance hanno composto, su un grande tavolo imbandito davanti al Teatro Massimo di Palermo, il messaggio “TUTTI SOTTO LO STESSO TETTO”. La condivisione finale del pane è stata occasione per aggregare attorno al tavolo ospiti dei poli di accoglienza, operatori e operatrici sociali, attiviste e attivisti ma soprattutto passanti. Ha preso vita uno spazio di dialogo, di ascolto di esperienze e confronto su proposte volte alla sensibilizzazione e all’affermazione del diritto all’abitare.
Art. 25-La Casa de Pane riafferma la concezione dell’ospitalità come prerogativa umana e come strumento attraverso il quale ripensare in termini essenziali la capacità di accogliere l’altro e riconoscersi in esso.
