Born in Polizzi Generosa (Palermo) in 1968, lives and works in Palermo and Donostia-San Sebastian (Spain).
Gandolfo Gabriele David is a visual artist and designer, he is co-founder of Dimora Oz research group of transvisual, curatorial and performing arts, based in Palermo. At present, Myymälä2 gallery of contemporary art represents his work. David’s research relates to material and immaterial heritage, he collects stories and visual languages from the territories where he works. Every project is elaborated through the involvement of local communities by formulating together actions, workshops and happenings. His research on archetypes and traditions allows him to facilitate deep reconnection between people and their lives, overcoming geographic and linguistic boundaries. In recent years he has carried out projects that raise public awareness on the right to international mobility and he has devices art-based-strategies to bring residents and immigrants together.
Nato a Polizzi Generosa (Palermo) nel 1968, vive e lavora tra Palermo e San Sebastian (ES).
Artista e designer, indaga ed elabora tematiche ecologiche e sociali attraverso formule partecipative. La sua ricerca approfondisce lo studio del patrimonio materiale e immateriale dei territori in cui lavora, raccogliendo storie e linguaggi ed elaborando delle restituzioni estetiche attraverso il coinvolgimento delle comunità locali. Il lavoro su archetipi e tradizioni permette una riconnessione profonda fra le persone e i loro vissuti, superando limiti geografici e linguistici.
Co-fondatore di Dimora Oz, gruppo di artisti e curatori con sede a Palermo.

DimoraOZ is a laboratory of visual, performing and media arts, a transdisciplinary space animated by numerous artists living in Palermo. Dimora OZ is an art factory that addresses contemporary issues, producing events, workshops and such, with a particular attention to relational dynamics of collaboration and participation.
